Audit log
Who changed what, when, and from where.
Last updated
Every change in a workspace is recorded: monitors created, edited, paused, resumed or deleted; alert contacts; status pages and announcements; maintenance windows; team invitations, removals and role changes; API keys; and security events such as enabling two-factor authentication or changing a password. Changes made through the API are recorded under the API key's name, so each integration is accountable.
What an entry contains
- Who: the person (name and e-mail) or the API key, or MoniterMySite support for plan changes we make for you.
- What: the action and the item it touched.
- Changes: for edits, each changed field with its old and new value. Secrets (passwords, tokens, webhook URLs, request bodies) are never written to the log.
- Where and when: the client IP address and a UTC timestamp.
Plans and retention
Entries are written on every plan, so the history exists from day one. Reading the log in the dashboard (Audit log in the sidebar) is included from the Growth plan: Growth shows the last 12 months, Summit the last 24 months.
Filtering
Filter by area (monitors, team, API keys, security, …) and search by person, key or item. Click an entry to expand the changed fields. Older pages load with the button at the bottom.
Tip
Give every integration its own API key with a descriptive name. The audit log then tells your deploy pipeline apart from your chat bot.
